fwnds is for small circles of people who intentionally choose each other. There are no public profiles, no searchable directory, no follower graph, and no random discovery. A friendship starts only when both people opt in.
Effective June 25, 2026Short version: fwnds uses your information to help a few accepted friends know when you are reachable. Your availability is a temporary signal for your circle, not a public status.
How fwnds stays private
Friendship is double opt-in. Someone can invite you, but you only become fwnds after both people confirm the connection.
fwnds is designed for small groups of people who already know each other, not follower counts, public feeds, or audience building.
Profiles are not public, searchable, or discoverable by strangers in fwnds.
Your availability is temporary by design. You choose when to show up as reachable, and the window closes when the timer ends.
Accepted friends can see the details needed to make a real-life call easier; everyone else should not be able to browse your profile.
What friends can see
Accepted friends may see your profile details, availability window, call preference, and the contact details you choose to add.
Friend invite pages may show the nickname embedded in a valid invite link so the recipient knows who is asking.
People outside your accepted friend circle do not get a public fwnds profile page for you.
Details for your close friends
fwnds keeps the basics close friends may want handy, like your nickname, photo, city, country, birthday, call preference, and the phone number you choose to add.
If you add addresses or other profile details, they are meant for accepted friends who already belong in your circle.
Your availability details tell close friends whether you are reachable right now, how long that window lasts, and how you prefer to be called.
Invite and friendship details keep the circle intentional, including invite links, request status, and the friendship year answers used to confirm both people know each other.
Sign-in and device details, like your email, Apple sign-in, session, and notification tokens, help fwnds keep your account working and send the updates you ask for.
How we use it
To create and secure your account, keep your profile available to you, and restore your session when you return.
To show your trusted friends when you are available for a call and how you prefer to be reached.
To manage friend invites, accepted friendships, declined or expired requests, and invite abuse prevention.
To send notifications or Live Activity updates when the app needs to reflect availability or friendship changes.
To maintain, debug, protect, and improve fwnds.
Service providers and legal reasons
We use service providers, including Supabase and Apple platform services, to run authentication, database, storage, realtime updates, notifications, and app functionality.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect people, or to investigate abuse or security issues.
Photos, addresses, and phone numbers
Profile photos are stored for your profile and may be visible to accepted friends.
Phone numbers and call preferences are used so accepted friends can contact you in the way you choose.
Address and location fields are optional profile details. Only add details you are comfortable sharing with accepted friends.
Retention and deletion
We keep information while your account is active or as needed to provide fwnds.
Availability windows are temporary by design, but related records and logs may remain for reliability, security, or debugging.
You can ask us to delete your account or specific personal information, subject to legal, safety, and operational limits.
Your choices
You can update your profile, call preference, availability, and friend circle inside the app.
You can revoke or regenerate friend invite links and remove friends.
You can manage notification permissions in iOS settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or object to certain uses of your personal information.
Children
fwnds is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Changes
We may update this policy as fwnds changes. The latest version will be posted here with a new effective date.
